Intensive Outpatient Programs
Intensive Outpatient Programs
WHAT ARE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS?
Sometimes a more intensive level of counseling care is needed than can be provided in a traditional outpatient counseling setting, which typically involves meeting one-on-one with a counselor, for about one hour per week. When more care is needed, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) can provide a higher level of services.
The comprehensive nature of a higher level of care in an IOP program, along with a higher frequency of sessions, allows for improved client outcomes and also creates the flexibility for clients to remain in the community and avoid in-patient, hospital-based programming. This will allow clients to continue working and living in their own homes during intensive treatment.
Our programs also include supportive services for families and aftercare services following completion of the IOP program near me, depending on client needs.
Many insurance plans cover our intensive outpatient program. Please contact us at 800.438.1772 so we can walk you through the process and review your insurance and payment options.

ADULT INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS (IOP PROGRAM)
Adult IOPs at Christian Family Solutions are designed for adults seeking clinically proven and effective skills and resources to more successfully manage their depression, anxiety, trauma, or other serious mental health conditions.
These programs are ideal for those who need a higher level of care than traditional outpatient counseling. Our programs help individuals whose symptoms are escalating, who are not progressing in weekly outpatient visits alone.
Typically, an adult intensive outpatient treatment program consists of group sessions held three to four days a week for about three hours per day, with an average group size of about 8-12 members. Group settings allow for individuals with shared experiences to share understanding with one another – the kind of support those individuals may not get from the outside world. Guided by the therapist, group members set individual goals and hold each other accountable for working toward those goals.
Our IOPs may also include individual and family therapy sessions, depending on the needs of the client.
What makes group work so effective?
Clients often feel alone, like no one understands what they are feeling. An IOP group allows for someone with a shared experience to say, “I understand exactly what you are going through. I’ve been there, or I am there too.” So while therapists can describe what they think is happening, it helps when a fellow group member knows exactly what that person is going through. It is impactful for clients when they know they are not alone.

What Is Dual Diagnosis?
Those who struggle with chemical dependency often have underlying mental health issues, which can be a barrier to relapse prevention and long-term recovery. Our counselors effectively treat both the chemical dependency and any underlying mental and behavioral health concerns.
ADULT DUAL DIAGNOSIS PROGRAM IN MANKATO, MN
The Dual Diagnosis Intensive Outpatient at Christian Family Solutions provides rigorous, evidence-based treatment along with the flexibility to individualize intensive treatment in a way that addresses each client’s needs.
Our program is a true co-occurring program in that we have equally emphasized mental health and chemical dependency topics addressed in the schedule. Our “Phases to Recovery” schedule is a roadmap for clients: We guide them through the program, yet clients are empowered to monitor their own progress. This client-driven aspect of our program creates ownership, a sense of responsibility, and personal attention to each client’s progress.
What further sets our program apart is the inclusion of a faith-based model of recovery, which results in sustained treatment outcomes.
Because we offer a variety of services (including Rule 25s) and levels of care, we often collaborate with other providers in the community to work in the best interest of a client. We are known for our collaboration that puts client needs first.
